Ray is a seasoned, all-rounded educator who brings a suite of training experiences and skillsets ranging from coaching, English language teaching, adult education, disability inclusion and coaching. He started his career as a MOE teacher focusing on English language teaching for Primary Schools, before pivoting towards the Training and Adult Education sector through various roles such as instructional design and innovative technological integrations. He is also well-acquainted with promoting inclusive learning experiences for people with disabilities. As a people manager, he integrates coaching and mentoring skillsets that helps his staff and fellow peers in finding deeper career fulfillment that positively impacts their working experiences.
Between 2019-2023, Ray was awarded the Excellence in Service Commendation for 3 years, as a testament to his strong work ethics and contribution at the National Institute of Education. Additionally, Ray has earned several positive reviews from his former managers and mentors that escalated his promotions.
In 2023, Ray was introduced to formal coaching training through a former mentor. It was a fruitful learning experience that provided Ray with a structured training towards a professional certification. Expectedly, the target audience that resonates with Ray mostly is towards education professionals, as Ray can emphatically relate to their personal struggles and adopt various coaching techniques to empower them in finding greater career fulfillment.
Ray holds a Masters in Adult Learning (SUSS), BA Linguistics with a Minor in Psychology (SUSS), Diploma in Education (NIE/NTU), CELTA (Cambridge English), WSQ ACLP 2.0 (IAL) and coaching credentialings in life and career coaching (CCI). He is currently learning Japanese as a side hobby
