Professional Background

Siping holds a Masters in social work and has been a practitioner for the past 10 years. While journeying with multi-stressed families and vulnerable children through therapeutic work and case management, she focused on holding space for her clients in crisis and making a positive impact on their healing from trauma, mental health, discovery of new opportunities and potential.

Siping takes on a particular interest in mental wellness to increase individual’s functioning both in workplace and in their daily life. Siping integrates her therapeutic approach and coaching to exploring client’s social context, personal values and beliefs to deeply connect with their inner self. Using creative and innovative tools, she supported her team members who had experienced burnt out and secondary traumatic stress to make sense of their experiences and learnt strategies on how to manage them. Beyond that, she also has experiences in providing coaching support for parents and caregivers who are experiencing challenges in coping with typical developing children and children with additional needs.

She was recognised for her contribution to her work in protection of children, innovation and analytical thinking in implementation of critical programmes, she was awarded with the Promising Social Worker’s Award in 2020.

Beyond clinical experiences, Siping has been actively involved in programme implementation and management in the government service. She was in the middle management role and led teams and volunteers in delivering services to the vulnerable communities.
