Shakun has about 20 years of experience in advertising, marketing, and human resources management.

Shakun is academically qualified with an MBA (specializing in Marketing). She is a certified HR Professional from the Institute of HR Professionals, Singapore (iHRP-CP) as well as a certified Career Advisor from Workforce Singapore (WSG). She finds a special joy in guiding fresh graduates and mid-career job switchers in navigating their careers.

Shakun started off in the early 2000s as a young advertising professional working as an Account Executive in various ad agencies including Ogilvy before moving to an in-house media publication as a marketing professional. With a conscious career switch to recruitment specializing in talent spotting for marketing and PR professionals, she honed her skills as a talent acquisition manager leading a highly dynamic talent acquisition team of a prominent media company to help acquire talent for the editorial teams.

As an ICF-certified coach-in-training, Shakun aspires to assist working professionals in making informed career choices. Eternally a people person who thrives in a dynamic and diverse workforce, it comes naturally to Shakun to be in someone’s shoes going through professional challenges and dilemmas. As a working woman, with about 20 years of marketing and recruitment experience, Shakun had to make multiple career switches at different stages of her adult life to accommodate the needs of a growing family.
