Professional Background

Juliet is a theatre maker, creative enabler and dramaturg. She is an artist’s listening ear and outside eye, their sounding board and unvarnished mirror. Her talent lies in seeing what people overlook, hearing what isn’t being said and giving voice to the unspoken.

With extensive experience in the non-profit sector, Juliet is an expert at conjuring magic out of limited resources. She has managed a wide range of artistic and production teams, each with its own personalities, dynamics and tensions. Sensitivity, adaptability, imagination and a large dose of patience are her hallmarks. She is proud to have sustained a career in the arts for nearly 25 years.

Juliet’s body of work includes lighting designs for theatre, dance, opera and interdisciplinary productions and she has exhibited at the Prague Quadrennial. She has also worked in exhibition lighting for the Guggenheim Museum and toured performances to major international venues and arts festivals. In Singapore, she has led teams for signature events such as the Singapore Arts Festival, Shakespeare in the Park, Forbidden City and The LKY Musical.

Yet, Juliet’s true calling lies outside of the spotlight. Her sense of fulfilment comes from serving in less visible but equally vital behind-the-scenes roles. She finds purpose tending the flame so that others may shine more brightly.

Personal Background

Juliet was born on the small island of Singapore. Hence, she is endlessly fascinated with other places in the world. So far, she has made it to 46 countries across 5 continents, including living in the US for over 10 years. Things she has learnt: to say “thank you” in more than 20 languages, to communicate without any words in common, to connect with strangers despite being a dyed-in-the-wool introvert. Her favourite ways to travel are by train, by boat or on foot.

Coaching Style

Juliet seeks first to truly understand her clients, to make sure they feel wholly seen and heard. This is the foundation on which trust is built and from which a fruitful coaching partnership grows. To this partnership, she brings her full presence and genuine attention. She invites you to join her in getting curious about who you are and to embrace a spirit of adventure and possibility about who you might become. As you journey together, she endeavours to provide the encouragement you need to keep going and plenty of challenge to ignite your fire.
