Professional Background

Joyce has a non-linear career path in the corporate world for the past 20 years. Despite starting out and excelling as a public relations consultant, she discovered her passion for the people agenda which led to her pivot into the world of human resources. She’s a subject matter expert in employer branding, with complementary experience in diversity & inclusion, employee engagement and recruitment. She had also been a speaker and panelist on these topics at local and regional events.

Having worked in global and regional roles across various industries and in organizations of varying scales, Joyce is culturally aware and adaptable, and enjoys harnessing diversity of experiences & perspectives among people. As a people manager and leader, she’s known – and appreciated – for her calm and friendly demeanor, caring and supportive disposition and consultative approach. She’s a sincere and non-judgemental listener whom peers and employees have been able to trust and open up to.

Recently, she became a certified Mental Health First Aider in order to be better equipped to identify and support people around her at risk of, or are experiencing, mental health challenges. She is also a coach-in-training, with the intention to realise another career pivot to fulfill her mission of supporting individuals to (re)align with their internal compasses and lead thriving lives.

Personal Background

Joyce is blissfully married with two young boys, whom she thankfully derives more joy than frustration from.

With ‘acts of service’ as her dominant love language, she enjoys helping others; it’s what finally convinced her to learn driving and she got her licence in 2023, so she could be more ‘useful’ and not have to rely on one driver in the household.

Over the years, Joyce has evolved to become more extroverted and open to sharing her life, even with those whom she’d barely known. However, she still enjoys having quality me-time to introspect and recharge – from having a nice cup of coffee and reading in a quiet cafe, or taking off for a short, solo overseas vacation.

Joyce doesn’t shy away from sharing her identity as a Christian, as her faith anchors her current life – from her core values and purpose, to attitudes and means of navigating good and bad times.

Coaching Style

Personal Philosophy

We each have a unique purpose in life – find it, live it, thrive in it!

(Inspired by Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, in which God prepared in advance for us to do.”)
