Professional Background

After working a number of years in the corporate world and in the education industry I realised that I wasn’t quite fulfilled or happy with what I was doing. I decided to take a leap of faith and signed up for a life coaching course to learn all about life coaching. I also took a drastic turn in my career leaving the education sector behind me and opting to work for an airline so that I could enjoy the perks of cheap travel. I hope to be able to travel the world and make a difference in the lives of the people around me no matter local or abroad. And I believe in making one small change or one small step at a time towards leading a more meaningful, purposeful and intentional life. It has been indeed the small encounters and exchanges that have led me to where I am and where I am going and I believe in paying it forward. Ultimately, as a coach, I want to see you thrive and do well.

Coaching Specialty

– Finding direction in life, feeling stuck, unmotivated or unhappy with where you’re at
– Career coaching
– Personal growth and fulfilment

Personal Background

At home, I am the third son in a family of six boys. Outside of home, my friends often see me as the jovial, cheery one, who’s always interested to give a listening ear. Introverted by nature, I am usually more motivated by meaningful one-to-one conversations than big group activities.
Outside of work, I am usually either at the rock climbing gym, or looking out for good reads online, or working on my podcast which I started out for fun trying to capture great conversations with ordinary people and sharing them with the rest of the world.

Coaching Style

Here’s a review I got from a recent client:
“It has been empowering working with Benedict! Before working with him I was very confused about my life path! Benedict helped me identify some things that were holding me back from making decisions about my life! He was very supportive and understanding, his observations and insights have helped me gain a greater clarity to my life path. I really enjoyed our sessions, he was easy to talk to and he allowed me the space to think while also challenging my thought processes. I would highly recommend Benedict has a coach! ”

During the coaching process, I will allow you the space and time to think or to talk aloud, and I will seek first to understand you with no judgment or assumption. I will support, guide and partner you as we seek to get to a deeper understanding of what needs to be addressed or figured out. And I will provide you with the necessary check-in’s if you wish to hold you accountable to the things you set out to achieve. And all the while we will revisit how far we have come or how things have developed for you in terms of our initial coaching objective.

I am also open and flexible to online or in-person coaching sessions though I have found that the in-person ones make a difference to the coaching conversation. And if you are up for having the coaching conversation outdoors or by a park I am also open to that as I find that the environment plays a part in having a meaning and productive coaching session.

Personal Philosophy

A quote that has helped me immeasurably and its from a book called The Horse, the Boy, the Fox and the Mole. The boy and the horse are in the woods and the boy says to the horse, I can’t see a way through. And the horse says, can you see your next step? The boy says, yeah. And the horse says, then just take that.
