Amanda has 10 years of experience exploring the development and social impact space, working in financial inclusion, digital inclusion, education, and consulting roles after graduating with an undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley. She kicked off her career as a management consultant working with multinational and state-owned enterprises in various industries across Southeast Asia. Following this, she started her first venture as a founder, taking an education technology startup and consultancy from zero to one, with the aim of making higher education abroad more accessible to students and families in Southeast Asia. Her most recent role was as a Head of Growth for a Jakarta-based microfinance startup, where she managed a strategy and business incubation unit responsible for exploring, experimenting, and building out technology-based financial services, healthcare, and education products for female micro-entrepreneurs across Indonesia. She was part of the company’s founding team, which successfully amassed a customer base of over one million women within a year of launching.
Amanda’s journey so far has been in the spirit and pursuit of helping people, as she works on nurturing a positive and compassionate inner environment, and wrestles with her own issues of identity, mental wellness, family, relationships, and work. Last year, she decided to take the plunge and pivot into careers in psychology and is now on a journey to understand, guide, and enable others in their own self-discovery, healing, and growth. She is currently pursuing a MSc in Psychology & Neuroscience from King’s College London.

A pseudo third culture kid, Amanda was raised in her hometown of Jakarta in an international school bubble before spending her university years in California and her professional years in Singapore.
Amanda loves slow mornings and starts every day walking her dog Ollie (follow him at @olliedood__), but never without a podcast! She has an endless list of podcast episodes to recommend, and is always in search of new ones. She regards skiing as her favorite activity in the world, but will gladly settle for yoga, tennis, board games, and puzzles in the absence of snow. Ask her in a year and you will probably hear a new list of hobbies.
