Professional Background

A career soldier with over 20 years of experience in operations and command. Having served in both the special forces and logistics communities, a unique combination of experiences, Alex understands the need for fast decision making, and also systems thinking in a VUCA and increasingly fragmented world. His career in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has provided the necessary training and opportunities in management and leadership at the front of operations and policy decisions.

During the 2015 SEA Games, Alex and his team led the transportation of over 10,000 athletes. This operation spanned across multiple Ministeries and Government Agencies, requiring constant coordination with the various countries and sports agencies. As the Army’s Chief Supply Officer during the COVID-19 pandemic years of 2020 to 2022, Alex was responsible for the feeding, equipping and housing requirements for the SAF and the Army.

A leader across various commands and departments, Alex has benefited from personal and leadership development opportunities and in turn, has paid it forward by nurturing the next generation of SAF Leaders through personal coaching and mentoring.
