Leonard is an accomplished leader and operations planner who has over 14 years of experience in strategising, planning and executing local and international operations. As a top-performing naval officer, he has honed his leadership, communications, team-building and resource-management skills that are highly applicable in other sectors.
Working in a demanding and stressful environment, he has developed high adversity and emotional resilience to overcome many challenges, both in life and at the workplace. These challenges includes making real-time plan adjustments to avoid three typhoons at sea; working with external agencies to plan and execute a landmark event for 20,000 military personnel and families at the Istana.
Leonard’s strength lies in his ability to first create a safe space for his coachees to share their perspectives. In understanding their impetus for change, Leonard will fully support the coachee towards the achievement of their goals.
Curious by nature, Leonard loves seeking out unique experiences. Till date, he has eaten spiders in Cambodia, swam in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, dived head first into an uncharted Laotian river and was even quaratined in Tibet.
Leonard is a firm believer of trying everything ”at least once in your life”.
Having experienced several setbacks in his life, Leonard has learnt the importance of clarifying the impetus for change and the motivation to share this knowledge is what led Leonard to embark on his coaching journey.
Honest, collaborative, empathetic, open-minded.
Leonard has also been described by his coachees as a sincere coach with a genuine desire to lead them on their journey of self-discovery.
Leonard’s military career and personal experiences have given him many opportunities to work with people from all walks of life, and that has fundamentally shaped his perspective on the importance of diversity.
Despite the military‘s emphasis on uniformity, Leonard remains a strong advocate for diversity because he recognises that every individual is capable of offering their unique perspectives. Exending this belief into coaching, Leonard provides a collaborative environment and a safe space for his coachees to share their experiences and perspectives.
