CK is a veteran banker, having been in the Banking Sector for more than 18 years. His last held position was Vice President & Team Lead Position in the Commercial Banking Department. During his Banking stint, he led teams in both Commercial and Consumer Banking segments, and was also exposed to a wide spectrum of functions, ranging from Commercial Lending, Business Development, Consumer and Commercial Product Development & Management, Business Compliance & Operational Risks Management, Bank-level Business and Operational Projects. One major Business Project that CK spearheaded from Singapore was the setting up of a regional presence among the ASEAN branches, which ultimately led to an increase in cross-border banking facilities of more than S$15 million to Singapore in the first year.
After attaining his ACTA (WSQ Advanced Certificate In Training And Assessment), CK embarked on a professional training career in 2014. To date, he has trained or facilitated over 400 participants in Business & Communication Skills, Sales, Service, Grooming and Retail Visual Merchandising. Some clients include Hitachi System, Pokka Sapporo Food & Beverage, Morinaga Milk Industry, Soverus Group Ltd, Shiseido Singapore and Spectra Secondary School, and had garnered good feedback from participants. With his DACE (WSQ Diploma in Adult Continuing Education) certification, CK also develops training programmes for his clients.
CK believes teaching a person how to fish is more important than giving the fish. So he empowers his coachees to make the positive change.
CK’s diverse exposure in the Banking Sector has helped him to be adaptable and to develop a positive mindset that nothing is impossible if one sets one’s mind to it. This allowed CK to transit from the Banking to the Training Industry with ease.
With his last role setting up and managing processes, he is also able to break down complex matters into more systematic approaches.
